Civic Duties and Responsibilities
Erattayar Grama Panchayat
Civic Duties & Responsibilities
What are Civic Duties?
Civic duty refers to the participation and cooperation of citizens in the development of the Panchayat and in ensuring smooth administration, as responsible members of a local self-government area. The overall progress of Erattayar Panchayat depends on the responsible behaviour and active participation of every citizen.
Active Participation in Gram Sabha
Actively participating in the Gram Sabha meetings held throughout the year is an important civic duty. Through the Gram Sabha, citizens have both the right and responsibility to raise the needs of their ward, participate in the selection of development projects, and verify beneficiary lists.
Key Responsibilities
Waste Management
Hand over non-biodegradable waste to the Haritha Karma Sena. Do not dump waste in public places or in the water bodies of Erattayar.
Payment of Taxes
Pay building tax, professional tax, and other Panchayat fees on time and support the development of the Panchayat.
Protection of Public Property
Protect Panchayat roads, streetlights, public institutions, and other public property from damage.
