Agriculture and dairy farming play a primary role in the main livelihoods of the people in Erattayar Grama Panchayat. The Grama Panchayat implements various schemes to provide farmers with necessary seeds, saplings, fertilizers, and agricultural equipment, as well as to promote modern farming methods. To support dairy farmers, subsidies for milk, cattle feed distribution, cattle rearing projects, and veterinary services are also being implemented. The Grama Panchayat aims to strengthen the agricultural sector and achieve self-reliance by increasing the income of farmers and dairy rearers.

Infrastructure development and access to clean drinking water hold a major role in improving the standard of living of the people in Erattayar Grama Panchayat. Along with increasing the efficiency of health centers and medical services, various health awareness programs, medical camps, and preventive measures are organized. To ensure hygiene in households and public spaces, activities to segregate and process waste at the source are promoted. Systems such as composting for organic waste management and collection of recyclable waste are also implemented. The goal is to ensure a clean and healthy Grama Panchayat by making waste collection and management more efficient through the activities of the Haritha Karma Sena.
